Google is starting its mobile search ads for automaker dealers and manufacturers soon. The announcement about the beta version was made last May, and is now available to the automotive vendors in the US.
Original equipment manufacturer advertisers are free to run the Model Automotive ads on the searchers against the models and automakers. The ads consist of format images, manufacturer’s website links and performance details along with nearby information and dealers.
Ford and Toyota are running new ad formats for a few models. Google has said that the rates of engagement on the Model automotive ads is 30% more to the standard text ads also shared by Dionne Colvin-Lovely, director of new and traditional media for Toyota Motor Sales, USA.
The automaker ads for dealers are available to all authorized franchise and auto dealerships in the US. Ads include direction, location and a click-to-call button for the nearby display and dealerships at the top of mobile search results. The ads are also integrated with the Model Automotive ads, and can be accessed from the “Dealers” tab in the ads.
Why is Google offering specialized mobile ads for automotives? Well, this is because according to Google itself. 50% of the automotive searchers are conducted through it. The numbers continue to increase with every passing year and 80% now occur through mobile platform.
